Long story short, with much pain and hesitation, I am selling my favorite project vehicle. 2 years ago I accepted a job offer in British Columbia Canada. What I didn’t know at the time was that British Columbia will not allow modified vehicles to be imported from other countries. After fighting it for 2 years I’m forced to accept that I simply have to sell my XJ. I’m extremely bummed about this. But, if you dig XJ’s this ones already well built and ready to go. Here’s the details…

Parts, Accessories and Customizations:

  • G2 Dana 44 rear axle with Eaton ELocker and Disc Brake Upgrade. - 3,100 on sale from 4 Wheel Parts at the Pamona auto show.
  • Completely rebuilt Dana 30 Hi Pinion front axle with Detroit TrueTrac Helical gear-type limited slip differential and matching G2 aluminum dif cover. (this is a badass limited slip that does not utilize a clutch plate, meaning no need to constantly replace dif clutch pads… you’re welcome:) - 1,700
  • 488 gears front and back, this effectively has turned first gear into a Granny gear. (it’ll idle up a 45 degree grade in 4Low)
  • 4.5 Inch Rough Country Short Arm Lift w/ new Rear Leafs and Rocky-Road Drop brackets (This smooths out the ride beautifully)
  • Hi Clearance Napier V2 Fenders all around. - 432
  • 33X12 Procomp Xtreme MT2 mud terrain tires X 5 w/ Less than 5k Miles on them. - 1,750
  • American Racing 15x8 Wheels x 5, bought used and professionally sand blasted then refinished in Rustolium Satin Black. (This means easy peasy repairs from rockrash on the trail)
  • ARB single hi output air compressor, custom mounted under the hood. (will take all 4 tires from 10 psi to 33 in about 15 minutes, compressor switch mounted on center consol)
  • AirRaid Cold Air Intake with dry filter (just wash and reuse) - 350
  • Fresh Bump Stops all around - 150
  • JCR diy rear Bumper - 225 without labour
  • Rustys Offroad Front Trail Bumper with Prerunner Bar and winch mount - 489
  • Rusty’s Metal Tail Light housings with LED Red brake/tail/blinker converter and white backups. 200 for housing and electronics only.
  • Rampage H4 headlights - 85
  • LED front marker/turn signals
  • Detours Custom dropdown spare tire carrier - 300
  • Rock Rails - I completely forget the brand now, sorry. But they are beefy.
  • Hood vents (never even come close to overheating because of those vents)
  • Blaupunkt Bluetooth/CD/Aux input Audio Deck with 5 inch Blaupunkt speakers x 4, plus 8 inch kicker sub and amplifier with independent volume control. - 600
  • Upgraded Front seats to Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ’s
  • Wet Okole front seat covers in black and grey - Approx 300 after shipping
  • New front floor pans
  • B&M short shift Shifter - 225
  • Interior has been stripped, washed, repainted with automotive grade paint, carpets shampooed, headliner replaced, and the floor and roof covered in Fatmat sound proofing. - I can’t even quantify the time and expense of that project. But the result is a much quieter ride and excellent sound quality from the sound system.
  • Exterior has been stripped, prepped and repainted in its original black including door jams. The body was very straight when I bought it but the paint was fading and chipped, so I just had to redo it. - Again it’s hard to quantify exactly how much time and money I sunk into that part of the project.
  • Removable doors Mod, look it up on youtube.
  • Fresh Doors and Hatch seals - 100
  • Red Top Optima Battery - 225
  • Clutch, less than 10k old - 1000
  • Starter, 5k old - 150
  • Exhaust system from Cat back, less than 10k old and passes smog without issue.

The less than awesome facts (Full Disclosure):

  • There is a small main seal leak. That said, this thing does not burn oil and I rarely have had to top it off between services.
  • I had replaced the headliner as the original was starting to sag. Unfortunately, the replacement is now starting to sag as well. Jeep Depot in the valley has tons of XJ parts including headliners. Their prices are fair and they are willing to barter.

All in all this thing drives great, sounds great, looks great… And there is no way in heck I’d be selling it if I weren’t being forced to do so. I am asking 8K OBO because the upgrades alone cost me more than that. I will not accept lowball offers.

Shoot me an email and I’ll get you in touch with my sister for a test drive. I am able to hop on the phone with you when you’re viewing the vehicle to answer questions directly. And of course I will happily send a carfax report via email upon request.
